The DWP operates a service which can issue, free of charge, to employers etc. estimates of members' state pensions.  Employers can then use these to produce combined pension statements for members which is a more comprehensive statement of their entitlements at retirement which can better assist retirement planning. It is also a useful way of checking that the DWP's information ties with that held by the scheme.  There is a process involved in using this service and in June the DWP issued a guide for employers and others about how to go about using it.
