CoLP launches anti-money laundering taskforce: Members of the Government, the National Crime Agency (NCA), BoE, FCA and CoLP have met for their second breakfast meeting of talks on the UK efforts to combat financial crime. They have officially launched the Joint Money Laundering Intelligence Taskforce, developed by the Home Office, NCA, CoLP, British Bankers’ Association and other financial institutions. The first meeting led to establishing the Financial Sector Forum, which meets three times a year and aims to make the UK’s financial sector a more hostile environment for criminal activity, build international cooperation and help to recover the proceeds of crime. The meeting aimed to focus on cyber crime and terrorism risks and the Home Office will launch a Call for Information to support its review of the suspicion reporting regime.
