The latest changes to the international student system have raised a number of new commercial considerations for sponsors. Our education group has developed a combined initiative, the first in the UK, through our corporate, commercial and immigration teams to provide support and assistance to sponsors dealing with these complex new challenges.
We are currently advising university and college clients on corporate solutions which will enable them to obtain UKBA approval in order to receive talented international students from establishments that are no longer able to sponsor them.
We are also advising universities, business schools and leading college sponsors in relation to mergers and sales, acquisitions and takeovers and the design of corporate mechanisms for branch and partner institution purposes which meet the criteria set out in the tier 4 sponsor guidance. Uniquely, we are also in direct contact with senior officials in the UKBA's policy and sponsor licence teams to ensure that mechanisms our clients wish to put in place will be acceptable to the UKBA.
Our immigration and commercial teams have also carried out substantial work for clients who require operational agreements outlining their sponsor arrangements with partners and those who require contractual terms and conditions between sponsors, students, agents and work placement providers.
We are also able to provide tailored commercial advice on sponsor related matters to tier 2 clients.
