In brief

On 1 November 2022, the National Ministry of Security ("Ministry") approved the adhesion template and framework agreement template for the federal campaign 'STOP. THINK. CONNECT. Argentina — a campaign for public awareness on cybersecurity and cybercrime prevention ("Campaign"). The Ministry has invited the provinces and the city of Buenos Aires to join the Campaign.

The main goal of the initiative is to generate, disseminate and implement materials, training and good practices to raise awareness about cybersecurity and cybercrime.

The referred templates, approved by Resolution No. 731 dated 1 November 2022, are part of the collaboration agreement signed by the Ministry and STOP. THINK. CONNECT. Messaging Convention Inc., through which the Ministry joined the global cybersecurity awareness campaign STOP. THINK. CONNECT.', created in 2010 by the alliance of nonprofit organizations Anti-Phishing Working Group (APWG) and National Cyber Security Alliance (NCSA).

This global initiative is supported by more than 850 public agencies, nongovernmental organizations, universities and private sector companies from several countries.

The Ministry will lead and coordinate the Campaign, reinforcing awareness of cybersecurity, associated risks and threats, and providing strategies so that Argentine citizens have tools to enhance security with the use of technological tools and the internet.

Per the proposed framework agreement, the Ministry is committed to providing strategic guidance, materials and content in Spanish for the dissemination of the Campaign.

As for the adherent entities, among other actions, they undertake to:

  • Act as curator of the material provided, sharing any improvements made to the Campaign materials.

  • Elaborate and communicate to the Ministry a six-month schedule of public activities to be carried out for the execution of the Campaign.

  • Share information related to the issues addressed in each activity and identify new problems to be solved.

The entities that adhere to the Campaign must appoint an official to act as liaison with the Ministry within 30 days from the subscription of the proposed framework agreement.
