In brief
Moscow has extended the self-isolation regime until 31 May 2020. However, a number of companies engaged in wholesale trade, construction and manufacturing will be able to resume work as of 12 May 2020.
Companies must fulfill certain obligations in order to ensure the health and safety of personnel. In particular, employers must:
- Ensure that employees use masks/respirators and gloves.
- Check the body temperature of all employees at the beginning of the workday and then at least once every four hours.
- From 12 May to 31 May, test at least 10% of their employees for coronavirus; starting from 1 June, test at least 10% of their employees every 15 days.
- Deny access to the workplace and/or the company premises to employees with acute respiratory symptoms, pregnant women, and employees with pre-existing health issues for whom COVID-19 is especially dangerous.
Employees must report their health status, including pregnancies, to their employers. They are required to use personal protective equipment and to undergo medical examinations organized by their employer.
Work passes issued previously will be automatically prolonged until 31 May. Employees who did not have such passes must request them in order to travel to work.
As of 12 May, all citizens must use masks/respirators and gloves when traveling by public transport or taxi and when in stores.
Failure to comply with sanitary and epidemiological rules may entail administrative and criminal liability.
