Visa applicants should be aware of the possibility of delays in the visa application processes at U.S. consulates abroad.  The Department of State has already warned that the number of officers processing visa applications will be reduced.  The sequestration will result in a reduction in the number of officers adjudicating the visa applications and diminished consular services, including visa adjudications.

Travelers to the U.S. are also advised of delays in customs waiting lines at U.S. airports as a result of automatic federal spending cuts.
