Senate Energy and Natural Resources Chairman Ron Wyden (D-OR) wrote to the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission on March 5 requesting that it not use the Order 1000 compliance process to attempt to take away the authority of the Bonneville Power Administration and other governmental power marketing administrations to decide what transmission they build in the Northwest and who pays for it. Wyden pointed out that the majority of power systems in the Northwest are comprised of entities not under the jurisdiction of FERC.
