In July 2013, the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) submitted an information collection request (ICR) to the Office of Management and Budget (OMB), and invited interested parties to submit comments regarding implementation of the Sunshine Act. Among other things, interested parties were asked to comment on the dispute resolution process. On May 5, 2014, CMS submitted a revised ICR specifically seeking comments on the dispute resolution and correction process. According to the notice published in the Federal Register, CMS thought it appropriate to solicit additional public feedback on how the dispute resolution and correction process would occur.
