On March 1, Canada lifted entry visa requirements for citizens of Poland, Slovakia, Lithuania and Hungary. Visa requirements for the Czech Republic and Latvia were removed late last year.

This means that citizens from these countries travelling to Canada do not need a Temporary Resident Visa from a visa office as a condition of entry. This will facilitate the movement of such persons for business purposes. Depending on the planned activity in Canada, they may require a work permit.
