In a previous update, we reported that the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) would expand its ten fingerprint collection requirement to additional U.S. airports. The DHS announced on February 19, 2008, that it has commenced the ten fingerprint collection process at Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport. In the near future, the DHS will require New York’s John F. Kennedy International Airport to implement the new fingerprint collection procedures. The DHS expects that the remaining airports and seaports of entry will transition to collection of ten fingerprints by the end of 2008.
