• The U.S. Department of State (DOS) has completed the next phase of its U.S. passport agency expansion. New passport offices have been opened in California, Georgia, New York, Texas, and Vermont. Additionally, passport facilities in Arkansas and New Hampshire have been expanded. The new and expanded facilities provide urgent passport services to U.S. citizens traveling outside the U.S. within 14 days. Some of the facilities are equipped to issue passport cards sufficient for North American travel, onsite.
  • The DOS has temporarily eased up requirements for Libyan F-1 and J-1 students' employment authorization in the U.S. Due to the current conditions in Libya, some students are experiencing severe economic hardship and will now be eligible for certain types of on- and off-campus employment authorization through a simplified application process.
