The female chef employed by pop star Sting and his wife Trudy Styler has succeeded in her claim of sex discrimination against the couple. The claimant, Miss Martin, claimed that she was treated unfairly by Miss Styler because she was pregnant. Miss Styler, whose staff have allegedly complained of her wanting to be treated in a “royal manner”, was accused of saying “Who does she think she is? She needs to be available when I need her, or she should rethink her position”. Miss Martin’s salary was £28,000 per year and it is thought that the damages, which will be decided next month, are likely to be substantial.
