The Home Secretary's announcement regarding the next round of changes to tier 4 of the points based system also featured key changes to the conditions which education providers have to satisfy before they are allowed by the UKBA to sponsor an international student. These changes will effect the oversight of their education provision and their compliance with immigration requirements and will see both the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA) and the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) extend their inspection activities. Any sponsors seeking education oversight by the end of 2012 must submit an application no later than Friday 9 September 2011. QAA and ISI will announce in due course the dates when they will start to accept applications. Further updates will be reported on our website.
