Minor amendments to interception legislation have been made as part of new laws addressing anti-terrorism. The Counter-Terrorism Legislation Amendment (Foreign Fighters) Bill 2014 passed both houses of Parliament on 30 October 2014.

The Bill amends a range of legislation, including theTelecommunications (Interception and Access) Act 1979 (Cth) to provide that the breach of a control order, and offences against Subdivision B of Division 80 (Treason) of the Criminal Code are offences for which a telecommunications interception warrant can be issued.
