On 11 December 2013, ESMA updated its table showing the state of play of Memoranda of Understanding (MoU) signed by EU national supervisors with non-EU regulators worldwide in respect of the AIFMD. The AIFMD MoUs are co-operation agreements that allow the exchange of information between EU and non-EU supervisors, enabling non-EU fund managers to market alternative funds within the EU. According to the table, the Central Bank has entered into MoUs with all non-EU regulators listed in the table, other than the Maldives and Turkey.

On 29 November 2013, ESMA published the official translations of its guidelines on the model memorandum of understanding (MoU) concerning consultation, co-operation and the exchange of information related to the supervision of AIFMD entities. The final version of the guidelines was published on 18 July 2013. Publication of the official translations of the guidelines triggers a transitional period of two months for national supervisors to inform ESMA whether they intend to comply with the guidelines
