FSA has published speeches as follows:

  • Thomas Huertas spoke at the BBA Banking Supervision conference on where banking supervision goes after the current crisis. He looked at the causes of it, the reactions of industry, regulators and governments and, locally, FSA’s role. He explained why he thinks the emergency powers in the Banking Special Provisions Act and now in the Banking Bill are crucial. He also discussed the need to reform capital and liquidity requirements; and
  • Sarah Wilson spoke at another conference on TCF and with-profits: she looked at key TCF issues in with-profits firms, in particular conflicts management and investment strategies. She also looked at inherited estates. She moved on to talk about what FSA expects and how to boost confidence in the industry.
