Last month, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) issued Mortgagee Letter 2015-04, which is applicable to all servicers of Federal Housing Administration (FHA) loans. In this guidance, HUD tweaked notification guidelines for delinquent borrowers and updated the “Notification to Homeowners of Availability of Housing Counseling Services” disclosure. The updated rule takes effect on April 4, 2015.
