On September 6th, the CFTC granted to CME Clearing Europe Limited, registration as a derivatives clearing organization ("DCO") pursuant to Section 5b of the Commodity Exchange Act. The order allows CME Clearing Europe Limited to clear swaps on energy, agricultural, freight and metals products executed either bilaterally or on or through a swap execution facility, as permitted by the Commodity Exchange Act.
