TI's 2013 Global Corruption Barometer shows a reported increase in payment of bribes by UK businesses. More than one in four respondents had paid a bribe in the past year, and the police and the judiciary were viewed as being most prone to bribery. Over half the people surveyed thought corruption had got worse in the past two years. In the UK, 5% of respondents to the survey reported having paid a bribe.
