Government competition plan published: HM Treasury has published a competition plan which includes support for a Which? campaign to simplify contract terms and conditions, plus potential for civil fines for exploitative conditions and a commitment to regulators using enforcement action as a last resort. It will also consider star chamber sessions to look at regulation by economic regulators, a review of Trading Standards functions, and pilot of Primary Authority as a vehicle to assist businesses meet public procurement tender requirements.
