The 11th Annual Open session of the Spanish Data Protection Agency (SDPA) was opened by the acting Minister of Justice, who stressed that the SDPA has made an essential contribution to advancing the development of a data protection culture in Spain. Other points covered included:

  • the work by the SDPA on protocols for the immediate removal of violent content or sexual content disseminated without the consent of the victim. The SDPA announced plans to set up an extraordinary and urgent channel in its electronic headquarters for the presentation of claims for this type of content.
  • the process of updating existing Guidance, including the Cookies Guide as well as Data Protection Guides in the fields of labor relations and health.
  • the internal reorganization undertaken by the SDPA to adapt to and apply the GDPR and the national law supplementing the GDPR
