The draft Banking Business (Amendment No. 7) (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will amend the Banking Business (Jersey) Law 1991 in order to update the definition of the term "auditor" and permit the Minister for Economic Development to make Orders in relation to accounting and audit of registered persons.

The Control of Housing and Work (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will establish a new registration process for residents of Jersey and make provision for the control of work and housing.

The draft Employment (Amendment No. 6) (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will amend the Employment (Jersey) Law 2003 in relation to redundancy.

The draft Employment (Amendment No. 7) (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will amend the Employment (Jersey) Law 2003 in relation to redundancy, in particular, with regard to fixed short-term contract workers.

The Income Tax (Amendment No. 38) (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will amend the Income Tax (Jersey) Law 1961 by repealing those provisions which impose a liability to tax on certain individuals who own shares in companies taxed at 0% or 10%, either by deeming the individual to have received taxable dividends ("deemed dividends") or by attributing the profits of the company to the individual, as if they were the individual’s profits ("full attribution"). The Law will come into force on 1 January 2012, with the exception of Part 4, which will come into force on 1 January 2013.

The draft Intellectual Property (Unregistered Rights) (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will modernise Jersey's copyright and intellectual property legislation, providing a balanced legal framework to protect creative content.  

The Draft Register of Names and Addresses (Jersey) Law 201- has been adopted by the States of Jersey and is awaiting the approval of the Privy Council. The draft Law will make provision for the establishment of a Register of Names and Addresses of individuals in Jersey.
