The Consumer Product Safety Commission (CPSC) will conduct a safety academy “to discuss current requirements, including testing and certification of children’s products, the mandatory toy standard, and compliance issues,” on September 20, 2012. Those wishing to serve as panelists must register by September 4; those simply wishing to attend must register by September 14. The panels will address (i) F963 toy standards; (ii) testing, mandatory testing, component parts testing, and certificates of conformity; (iii) flammable fabrics, drawstrings and sleepwear; (iv) navigating the CPSC import process; (v) the nuances of 6(b); and (vi) the fast track process—compliance. According to CPSC, an official with China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection, and Quarantine has been invited to speak. See Federal Register, August 14, 2012.
