A new survey conducted for Help the Aged and The Age and Employment Network has found that over nine out of ten of those questioned believe workers should have the right to carry on working for as long as they want and are able to.
Patrick Grattan, TAEN’s Chief Executive, commented
“As the population gets older over time, enforced retirement ages will have to be removed. Our survey clearly shows that a huge majority of respondents want to have the choice to carry on in their jobs if they wish. Forcing people to retire at 65 is not sustainable.”
