This week, the National Labor Relations Board (NLRB) postponed the deadline by which most private employers must notify employees of their rights under the National Labor Relations Act from November 14, 2011, until January 31, 2012.

The postponement followed the NLRB's receipt of numerous questions from business and trade organizations regarding the Board's jurisdiction. According to the NLRB, the delayed implementation date will allow for education and outreach about the new rule to employers who operate small and medium-sized businesses. No substantive changes to the rule have been made.

Copies of the required notice are available here and from regional NLRB offices. In addition, we previously summarized the notice requirements in our August 29, 2011 Alert.
