The criteria to be used by the Secretary of State for determining whether to recover an appeal was previously contained within a Written Ministerial Statement by Meg Munn dated 24 July 2006. This has now been replaced by a new Written Ministerial Statement by Parmjit Dhanda on the 30 June 2008. The revised criteria include proposals of major significance for the delivery of the Government’s climate change programme and energy policies. In 2007, 110 appeals were determined by the Secretary of State.
