On 27 August 2013, Insurance Ireland issued a press release declaring its support for the decision of the Minister for Finance to give the FSO power to name financial service providers against whom three customer complaints have been upheld (or partly upheld) during the preceding financial year. Earlier that day, the Minister had exercised his power to provide for this by ordering the commencement of section 72 of the recently enacted Central Bank (Supervision and Enforcement) Act 2013. The section comes into effect on 1 September 2013.
