The PUCO has published forms to request certification of renewable resources as defined in Senate Bill 310 (SB 310). SB 310 freezes Ohio’s renewable energy and energy efficiency standards for two years while a committee studies the 2008 law requiring electric utilities to reach specific benchmarks in renewable sourcing and reduced energy consumption. (For more on this, see our lexology.com article here and our April 3, 2014 blog post.) The “SB 310 Specific REN Application Form” is for resources or technology included in Amended Substitute Senate Bill 310 that were not recognized as renewable energy resources under previous statutes. For resources or technology that were recognized by statutes prior to the SB 310 effective date of September 12, 2014, the correct form is “Online REN application.” Both forms are available here.
