The DWP is consulting on the lower and upper earning thresholds to be used for autoenrolment purposes for the tax year 2013/2014. The consultation proposes raising the lower threshold from £5,564 to £5,720 and reducing the upper threshold from £42,475 to £41,450. Separately, the DWP is proposing to raise the auto-enrolment earnings trigger from £8,105 to £9,250 to align it with changes to the PAYE threshold.
