Chinese acquisitions of US assets and businesses are at record levels this year, countering the trend of a challenging global M&A market. Nicholas Emmerson, international mergers and acquisitions specialist at international law firm Eversheds comments:

Chinese companies are looking at Europe but wondering whether prices have bottomed out yet. It is a waiting game as they want the best bargain they can get.”
