EBA consults on intervention over structured deposits: EBA is consulting, until 5 October, on the technical advice it must provide to the Commission on criteria and factors for using its intervention powers concerning structured deposits. These powers arise from provisions in MiFIR and EBA's founding regulation. EBA proposes that the circumstances when it may use those powers should be similar, with appropriate modification, to those ESMA is currently developing in relation to the other financial instruments over which it will have powers of intervention. EBA exempts certain equity exposures from IRB: EBA has finalised its regulatory technical standards on the exemption from treatment under the Internal Ratings Based (IRB) approach for equity exposures which were already exempted from it on the last day of application of the original Capital Requirements Directive (31 December 2007).
