The Bill was introduced into the New South Wales Parliament on 28 May 2014 and aims to address the substantial debt currently impacting NSW Ambulance and hindering its ability to provide effective healthcare services.  Among other things, the Bill amends the Health Services Act 1997 (NSW) by enabling recovery of unpaid debts for ambulance services provided to the public through increased civil enforcement powers.  The Bill is currently before the Legislative Council.
