Inspectors from the HSE's Construction Division plan to carry out more than 1,000 construction site inspections in June and July.

Similar operations have been carried out in the past, for example as part of what was known as the HSE's Fit Out Campaign in October 2005. They will normally target work at height issues, especially low falls, and general good order and this year's operation is no exception.

Visits often take place at soon-to-be completed construction sites, the HSE choosing to focus its inspection resources on sites likely to have a number of different trades there at the same time and perhaps where pressure to finish the job is at its height.
