State officials from 10 Northeastern and mid-Atlantic states announced a new plan October 19 to spur electric vehicle deployment along the East Coast. Using $1 million in grant money from the Department of Energy, the Northeast Electric Vehicle Network will do a thorough analysis of existing laws, policies, and regulations, and make recommendations to legislators and state agency heads about possible changes to them in order to create uniform standards for the quick deployment of electric charging stations and streamline the permitting process.
