Earlier this month, the Association of British Insurers published voluntary good practice guidelines for four types of insurance contracts: (a) insured and non-insured extended warranty and service contracts for each of providers and retailers, and (b) guarantees asset protection insurance for each of providers and retailers.These guidelines set out examples of good practice in relation to each type of contract. Stakeholders are encouraged to implement any changes arising out of the guidelines by 31 August 2011, and it is expected that the ABI will carry out reviews in this regard.
