2013 has been described by the Information Commissioner as a ‘decisive moment for the data protection sector’ - the 2012 Act has affected the way in which NHS organisations can access and process data.  Commissioners will be pleased to hear that NHS England are publishing a series of fortnightly bulletins that will explain what NHS England staff are doing to support commissioners and other organisations in complying with these changes.

Anyone who uses data for secondary uses including NHS England’s commissioners and CCGs; data analytics providers; those working in clinical audit; and researchers, managers, clinicians, and patients will find NHS England’s Information Governance bulletin worth noting.  So far two bulletins have been published:
