On 24 April 2015, Minister Ramatlhodi repealed the Electricity Regulations contained in Chapter 21 of the Regulations, which remained in force and effect in terms of Schedule 4 to the Mine Health and Safety Act 29 of 1996 (MHSA), and published new Electricity Regulations in Chapter 3 of the MHSA Regulations. On 19 June 2015, the Minister of Labour Nelisiwe Oliphant repealed the Driven Machinery Regulations promulgated under the provisions of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 85 of 1993 (OHSA) and replaced the Driven Machinery Regulations, which come into force and effect  on 30 September 2015.  The Driven Machinery Regulations, 2015, promulgated in Government Notice R527 in Government Gazette Number 38887 is supported by the Incorporation of Safety Standards, published by Minister Oliphant inGovernment Notice R528.

The implementation of the registration of Construction Health and Safety Professionals and the implementation of the Construction Work Permit in terms of the Construction Regulations, 2014 continues to provoke extensive debate and requires careful consideration.
