The conflict between Philip Kirkorov and the leader of the group space Didier Marouani arose at the end of 2016. The French musician accused the Russian singer of plagiarism. According to Marouani, Kirkorov’s famous song “Cruel Love” is a copy of his composition “Symphonic Space Dreams”, released in 2002. Marouani demanded a compensation of 75 million rubles from the singer, but the French singer faced a number of difficulties.

Didier Marouani decided to file a lawsuit for the second time in March 2019; the amount of claim is 272 million rubles.

The conflict between the singers was ended in March 2019. The Moscow court ruled that Phillip Kirkorov did not violate the copyright of Didier Marouani.
