ESMA is holding a consultation on the new Market Abuse Regulation which entered into force on 2 July 2014.  It issued two consultation papers seeking stakeholders' views on the draft regulatory and implementing technical standards (RTS/ITS) and Technical Advice (TA) ESMA has to develop for the implementation of the new Market Abuse framework which will become applicable in July 2016. The closing date for responses to both papers is 15 October 2014. ESMA will hold an open hearing to gain input from investors that deal in financial instruments and emission allowances subject to the Market Abuse Regulation, issuers of instruments in the scope of the Regulation, financial intermediaries and operators of trading venues and participants in the emission allowances markets. The hearing will be held on Wednesday 8 October 2014 from 13.30 to 17.30.
