On October 31, 2012, the Public Utilities Commission of Ohio published for public comment proposed amendments to its pipeline safety regulations.  PUCO’s proposal was prompted by provisions in SB 315, the Ohio legislature’s recently-enacted update to the state’s oil and gas laws.  Among other things, the proposed rules would add new requirements for the design, construction, and operation of gas gathering pipelines and processing plant pipelines.

Comments on the PUCO’s proposed rules must be filed by no later than November 30, 2012; reply comments are due two weeks thereafter.  The docket for this rulemaking can be found here.  Our previous coverage of SB 315 issues can be found here, here, and here.
