Last week, Ohio Third Frontier announced the creation of three programs to create jobs and strengthen Ohio's tech-based economy. The Technology Commercialization Center will offer up to $25 million to help commercialize technology that is developed from research from universities, medical centers and nonprofit institutions. Additionally, the Commercial Acceleration Loan Fund will provide loans ranging from $500,000 to $2.5 million to assist companies having difficulty securing funding due to "risks associated with developing technologies." Finally, the Technology Asset Grant will offer $5 million for up to three years to support infrastructure projects such as facilities or equipment that at least "two Ohio companies or a federal procurement agency [support as] critical to commercialize technology."
