In 2018, CNIPA received 709,000 patent applications for design, representing an increase of 12.7% over the last year. Among them, 20,000 were from foreign applicants, with the United States, Japan, Korea and Germany being the main ones.
In recent years, the number of patent evaluation reports for design has increased rapidly. In 2018, the number of requests and completions for patent evaluation reports for design increased by 49.7% and 43.5%, respectively, compared with 2017.
