On 8 January 2018, Caroline Nokes was appointed as the new Minister of State for Immigration.  She was elected Conservative MP for Romsey and Southampton North in 2010 and between July 2016 and June 2017 she served as the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State for Work and Pensions, before moving to the Cabinet Office as Minister for Government Efficiency and Resilience in 2017.

Caroline Nokes campaigned to remain in the European Union prior to the 2016 referendum but has since supported the government. It will be interesting to discover her views on what a new immigration system should look like post-Brexit.
