The Office of Fair Trading (OFT) announced that it had received a complaint submitted by the British Educational Communications and Technology Agency (BECTA) against Microsoft regarding software licensing arrangements for schools. Before undertaking an investigation, the OFT will have to decide if the complaint meets its priority standards. In the meantime, BECTA has published details of its allegations, which claim that Microsoft has abused its dominant position in the market with regard to document interoperability in the schools software marketplace.
