Electronic marketing Are there rules specifically governing unsolicited electronic marketing (spam)? Yes. Decree 90 on anti-spam sets out regulations regarding unsolicited messages sent by email and text message. In general, advertising emails and text messages can be sent only after obtaining clear prior consent from the intended recipients. Advertising emails and text messages can be sent only from email addresses and systems set out by the Ministry of Information and Communications. The details of each advertising email and text message must include opt-out information permitting recipients to decline receiving further ads. Senders must immediately cease sending ads once a recipient opts out.
