Whilst we'll know much more about this when the consultation paper is issued this November, Eric Pickles has confirmed how the £900m bonus that has been put aside will be split up over the 6 year period for which the Government will match council tax receipts for new housing. In a letter sent to local authorities on 20 October, he has said that this will break down to £196m in 2011/12 and £250m per year until 2014/15.

The letter also states that "planning permissions granted now will count against the Bonus".

Confirmation is given that authorities will be able to bid for the Regional Growth Fund (£1.4 billion) which will provide a mix of revenue and capital funding over 2011-12, 2012-13 and 2013-14
