The Competition and Markets Authority (CMA) has published, for consultation, an updated issues statement as part of its investigation into the supply of personal current accounts and retail banking services to SMEs.  It summarises the CMA’s current thinking based on the evidence received and the analysis undertaken to date.  The CMA has not yet reached any provisional conclusions.

Over the past six months of the investigation, 11 banks and building societies have been visited and the CMA consulted with, obtained evidence and/or received submissions from a range of interested parties including government, regulatory, consumer and industry bodies and price comparison websites.  Responses to the consultation must be submitted by 12pm on Thursday 11 June 2015.
