CLG has launched a consultation, proposing changes to increase permitted development rights for extensions to homes and businesses in non-protected areas.  The consultation document suggests amendments to the Town and Country Planning (General Permitted Development) Order 1995 to allow homeowners and businesses to make larger extensions to their homes and business premises without requiring a planning application and to allow quicker installation of broadband infrastructure.

The consultation closes on 24 December 2012.  A copy of the consultation document is available at: http://www.communities.gov.uk/publications/planningandbuilding/extendingpdrconsultation
