In TLQ 4:2, we reported that Seagate Technology LLC had filed a patent infringement lawsuit against rival secondary storage device (SSD) manufacturer STEC Inc. in the United States. Following an extensive discovery phase, the parties have settled the lawsuit. Seagate has agreed to drop all patent infringement claims against STEC and for its part, STEC has agreed to drop its counterclaims against Seagate’s asserted patents. The agreement did not include any monetary settlement, patent licensing terms or admission of liability.
