To ensure a common approach across the EU for remuneration data collection, EBA has issued two consultations on guidelines for data collection on bank remuneration practices:
- Guidelines on the remuneration benchmarking exercise. This exercise requires national supervisory authorities to collect aggregate quantitative information (broken down by business area) from "significant institutions".
- Guidelines on remuneration data collection exercise regarding high earners. This exercise requires national regulators to collect information on the number of individuals per credit institution in the pay brackets of EUR 1 million and above.
The consultation closes on 2 September 2011. The guidelines suggest that the first date for data submission is October 2011.
